In a word, yurts. In another word, domes. In two words, mirror houses. At All Is Well Resort in Saint Jo, Texas, we have nine private stays across three styles. The question we hear most is simple: which one should we book?
What every stay has in common
First, the good news. You really can’t go wrong. Every yurt, dome and mirror house:
- Sleeps 2 guests in one king bed, with its own bathroom
- Has a private hot tub
- Comes with a big deck for lounging, dining and stargazing
- Sits within more than 60 acres of woods, trails and creeks
So the choice really comes down to the feel you’re after.
The yurts: Love Shack, Blue Velvet and Hippy Chick
Yurts are the classic glamping escape. Their round shape feels instantly cosy, a bit like being wrapped in a hug. They’re a great choice if you want that “we’re really out in nature” feeling without giving up any comfort. The names give you a clue to their personalities, too.
The domes: Starman, Mod Squad and Escape Velocity
Our domes are all about the geometry and the sky. With their curved, spacious interiors, they feel open and a little bit out of this world. Hence the space-age names. They’re perfect for stargazers and anyone who wants their weekend to feel like a genuine adventure.
The mirror houses: Cosmic Cube, Music Box and Zen Den
Our mirror houses reflect the woods around them, so they almost disappear into the landscape. They’re striking, modern and very private. The Zen Den goes one step further with its own sauna. Texas Lifestyle Magazine described it as a private mirrored cabin escape in the peaceful Texas countryside, and we think that sums it up nicely.
Still can’t decide?
Here’s a quick rule of thumb:
- Cosy and classic: choose a yurt
- Stargazing and something different: choose a dome
- Design-led and ultra-private: choose a mirror house
- Celebrating something big: the Zen Den and its sauna
