Most of our guests are more than happy to stay put. They walk the trails, soak in the hot tub and watch the sky change colour. But if you’re staying two or three nights at All Is Well Resort and feel like a change of scene, North Texas has plenty close by. Here’s an easy day out that starts and ends with peace and quiet.
Morning: Lake Nocona
Lake Nocona is a short drive from Saint Jo and makes a relaxing start to the day. Bring a coffee and a blanket, or pack a picnic and find a spot by the water. It’s a favourite with local anglers and boaters, and on a calm morning the only sounds are the birds and the odd fishing line hitting the water.
Midday: take the long way round
The countryside around Saint Jo has some of the best motorcycle roads in the region, with gentle curves, rolling hills and very little traffic. Riders love it, but you don’t need two wheels to enjoy it. Wind the windows down, pick a road you haven’t tried and see where it goes. Stop for lunch in one of the small towns along the way.
Afternoon: pick your pace
Choose your own adventure for the afternoon:
- Wine tasting at one of the wineries near Saint Jo
- A round of golf at the nearby course
- Browsing the art gallery and antique shops in Saint Jo
- A flutter at WinStar Casino, about 30 minutes away
Evening: live music at Red River Station
Red River Station has one of the best music scenes in North Texas, so it’s worth checking the line-up before your trip. A night of live music is a great way to end the day before the drive home under the stars.
Late night: back to your deck
Then comes the best bit. Head back to your yurt, dome or mirror house, sink into the hot tub and look up. After a full day out, the stillness at All Is Well feels even better.
Or skip the day trip altogether
We won’t be offended. With more than 60 acres of woods, trails and creeks on site, plenty of guests never leave the resort at all. Take a look at our experiences page for more ideas, then choose your stay.
