60 Acres and Two Creeks: Exploring the Trails at All Is Well Resort

Narrow dirt trail winding through North Texas woodland

When people picture a stay at All Is Well Resort, they usually picture the hot tub, the stars and the unique yurts, domes and mirror houses. All true. But one of the best parts of staying here in Saint Jo, Texas, is the land itself: more than 60 acres of woods, trails and quiet places to sit and simply be.

Where two creeks meet

Two spring-fed creeks run through the property and meet to form what we think of as a little sanctuary. From the ridgelines above, the land drops 30 to 40 feet down to the water. It’s the kind of view that makes you slow down without meaning to. Bring a coffee in the morning and just listen.

Trails and benches made for wandering

A network of trails winds through the woods, connecting the stays and leading you to small parks with benches. They’re perfect spots to relax, read, reflect, or sit side by side and say nothing at all. There’s no set route and no finish line. Wander for ten minutes or two hours, whichever suits you.

You’ll find a map of the property on our homepage, showing how the trails, benches and creeks connect the yurts, domes and mirror houses.

Best times to explore

  • Early morning: the woods are cool and still, and the birds are at their busiest.
  • Golden hour: the light through the trees just before sunset is beautiful. Head back to your deck in time for the first stars.
  • Every season: spring greens, summer shade, autumn colour and winter views through the bare branches. The trails change all year round.

A few trail tips

  • Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. The ridgelines and creek banks can be uneven.
  • Carry water on warmer days.
  • Stay on the paths, especially near the ridgelines, and take a flashlight if you’re heading out close to dusk.
  • Take your time. This is not a workout, it’s a reset.

Nature right outside your door

This is why so many guests never leave the resort. There’s no need to drive anywhere to find peace and quiet, because it starts the moment you step off your deck. Unplug, walk, breathe and come back to a hot tub and a sky full of stars.
